Institute for Gaudiya Vaishnavism

Connecting on a personal level is an important part of sharing ideas. On this page we'll present some details about our organization and the people behind it.

Dr. Mahabuddhi Dasa, our President, pictured with Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami founded the Institute with the view of pleasing his Spiritual Master, Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and presenting the authorized process of Bhakti-yoga. The IGV has been on the leading forefront of development of the Congregational Member/Home Temple programs, that brings Bhakti-yoga to ones home as well as the leader in Vaishnava Education in the establishment of the Florida Vedic College, est. 1990.
 
In 2002, by the permission of his Siksha guru, Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami (Srila Gurudeva), recognized the preaching efforts of Mahabuddhi dasa and requested him to establishing a IGV Nama Hatta preaching Center in South Florida,  to help the preaching mission of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.  The IGV Nama Hatta Center is the authorized devotional congregational program for devotee's of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, serving Broward, Palm Beach and Dade counties.

Spotlight on the Board of Directors

Mahabuddhi Dasa Adhikari, Bhakti-sastri, D.Div.; was initiated in 1973 and awarded Brahman diksa by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in the Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya Sampradaya. He received the title Bhakti-sastri in 1977 in Vrindaban, India and earned his Doctorate of Divinity in Vaishnavism in 1991. He founded the IGV in 1989, and Florida Vedic College in 1990. He accepted siksha instruction from Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami in 2000.

Bopadeva Dasa, was initiated in 1971 and awarded Brahman diksa by His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in the Brahma-Madhav-Gaudiya Sampradaya. Puditji is a learned scholar in Vaishnava texts and Sankirtana. He accepted siksa instruction from Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami in 2000.


Richard Lewis, (Vasudevan) has been working for the IGV since its very conception. A born Vaishnava. He is one of the most successfull Natural Foods businessmen in the USA.
 
Mahasimha dasa, initiated disciple of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayan Swami, in 2001, is a 25 year old student and practioneer of Bhakti-yoga his whole life.

The IGV hosts the FIRST Vaishnava Degree granting College authorized in the USA today:

The Florida Vedic College (FVC) was founded in 1990 as the College Division of the Institute for Gaudiya Vaishnavism, which is registered with the State of Florida as a non-profit Religious Institution. Florida Vedic College is the only Vedic College in Florida and the first Vedic College in the USA. The College is located in Broward County in the State of Florida and offers classroom and non-residential external Religious degree programs.

Florida Vedic College is authorized through the Brahma Madhva Gaudiya Sampradaya (Denomination of the Vedic Tradition), this religious tradition traces its spiritual heritage back thousands of years as evidenced in the Vedic Scriptures. Florida Vedic College adopts, as its own, the fundamental vision of the Vedic Scriptures and the Vaishnava (Krishna Bhakti) tradition, and the values which are described in the Bhagavad gita As it is, Srimad Bhagavatam and the other authorized Vedic literatures.
